Qualification requirements

To be eligible for the Destination Australia Scholarship Program, applicants must choose a full-time position:

• Certificate of Residence IV/Certificate IV/Accredited Diploma/Advanced Diploma or Associate’s Degree
  OR
• Bachelor’s Degree/Bachelor’s Diploma with Honors
  OR
• Certificate of Completion / Graduate Diploma / Master’s Degree
  OR
• Doctoral degree from any partner institution.

Along with choosing a program, international students must meet the following criteria:

• Be a fully paid, non-sponsored student
• Minimum 75% at previous level of education
• Have a valid Australian student visa.
• Enrolled as a full-time student at a university campus located in regional Australia for the 2021 academic year.
• Maintain permanent residence in one of the regions of Australia.
• Study a higher education course at a registered university

Australia Scholarship Application Process

The Destination Australia Scholarship Program does not have a single or standard application process. It is up to them how they want to distribute these scholarships as candidates must apply for scholarships through 35 authorized educational institutions. The University of Melbourne is one of many regional institutions where qualified applicants will automatically be considered for a scholarship. On the other hand, other institutions such as Curtin University have a thorough application process to enter Australia.

Selection procedure

Each Australian university selects Destination Australia scholarship winners based on their acceptance into a full-time program and subsequent  residence in the Australian region  where the campus is located. For example, Edith Cowan University applicants must live in the Burbury area for the duration of the program. Students are selected for further consideration based on two criteria in addition to meeting specific university rules and conditions:

• Academic merit
• Statement of Purpose (SOP)  of 500 words (if the university requires a separate statement)

• All previous  academic grades
• Proof of receipt
• A scanned copy of a recent passport size photograph.
